The history of Goodwin Foust Custom Homes first began when Bryan Goodwin and Barret Foust met in 1991 at Clemson University. As students at Clemson, they set a mutual goal to one day start a custom home building business together. In 1994, both Bryan and Barret earned B.S. degrees in Construction Science & Management. After college, both men began working separately in the residential construction industry. This allowed them the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and expertise necessary to be successful.
In 2004, Bryan and Barret launched their long-planned business goal and Goodwin Foust Custom Homes opened its doors in Upstate, South Carolina. Both men credit their success today to the many business partnerships they have cultivated with some of the best developers, real estate agents, vendors, and subcontractors in the Upstate. Bryan and Barret have worked diligently to make Goodwin Foust Custom Homes a company with clear communication, high standards, and excellence in each phase of the custom home building process.

As the senior project manager at Goodwin Foust, Bryan works closely with our clients and vendors to ensure that every aspect of each new home is completed according to preference, schedule, and budget. He oversees each element of construction all the way through project completion. Bryan has set the standard for excellence in how Goodwin Foust homes are built. His education, significant background in residential construction, and strong work ethic make him highly qualified in his field. Bryan always feels a great sense of satisfaction when handing over the keys of a completed home to a client. Barret is manager of all pre-construction elements including site layout and design. As well, he leads all business development efforts and ensures that our clients’ visions can and will become a reality. Barret pays exceptional attention to detail on the front end of each project. Roger is a construction manager with over 15 years of experience with Goodwin Foust. He oversees all sides of the home building process with precision and tremendous knowledge. Bradley is the newest addition to the construction management team at Goodwin Foust. Sheila is a selection coordinator and interior designer for Goodwin Foust. She strives to make her clients’ home-building process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Sheila focuses on developing close and meaningful relationships with each client. By doing so, she then guides and assists in the choice of home selections that reflect her clients’ individual personalities. Sheila works diligently to achieve balance between client and home. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Winthrop University, Sheila has the knowledge and background to help clients successfully create a home that is both a comfortable space for living and a unique reflection of their individual tastes. She also offers professional organization skills to clients who may feel overwhelmed by the moving and settling process. Sheila is meticulous in her work and is a welcomed member of the Goodwin Foust team.

She is a Graduate from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington and holds a Master’s degree from East Carolina University.
